John Raymond Rumney, 88, of Mauldin, SC, passed Monday, February 3, 2014.

He was a retired physical therapist, practicing with Greenville Memorial Hospital and Interim Healthcare.

Surviving are his wife, Roberta Jane of the home; two sons, David Wayne (Rhonda) of Buford, Georgia; and, Robert Keith (Dawn) of Simpsonville, SC; a brother, General Richard Rumney (Giga) of Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Ina Casale of Delaware; four grandchildren, Eric and Kyle of Buford, GA and Tucker and Tanner of Simpsonville, SC.

John served in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic from 1943 to 1946. He attended Temple University, where he earned a BS in Education in 1950. He was recalled during the Korean Crisis and served another year. After, he completed his education at Temple and earned his Masters in Education in 1952. In 1953, he completed his study of Physical Therapy, practicing in Texas, Oklahoma and South Carolina until his retirement in 1990.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery, 140 Inway Drive, Anderson, SC 29621. The family will be at the home.
