Lula Grace Moon Griffin, 94, passed away peacefully Monday morning, November 26, 2012 at her home.

Born in the Moonville community, she was a daughter of the late James Walter Moon Sr. and Vinelle West Moon.

She was a graduate of Lander College and was a dedicated educator for over 50 years in the Greenville County School System. Mrs. Griffin was proud of her family's heritage as settlers of and lifelong residents of the Moonville community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Langdon Griffin in 2007. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Bennie Griffin Blakely and husband Terry Blakely of Moonville and Gail Griffin Richardson and husband, Dr. James F. Richardson of Fountain Inn; her sister, Bobbie M. Green of Moonville; her grandsons, Terry "Tab" Blakely, Jr. and wife, Cynthia and Shannon Langdon Blakely; and her great-grandchildren, Annie Griffin Blakely, Terry "Trace" Blakely, III, and Will Langdon Blakely. She was also predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Moon Tripp and brother, James W. Moon, Jr.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 1:00pm at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Marian and James for their devoted care.
