Malcolm "Mac" DeWitt Bragg, 88, of 145 McConnell Road, widower of Helen Loftis Bragg, died August 26, 2013 at his home.

A native of Greer, son of the late Rev. Dwight L. and Agnes Hinson Bragg, he was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church and charter member of Taylors Fire Department where he volunteered countless hours to his community and served as commissioner for many years. Due to the war, Mac was forced to get a deferment in order to graduate from Greer High School. Immediately following graduation, he reported to boot camp to prepare for duty in the United States Army, where he would later serve during the Pacific Theatre. After returning home, Mac attended Furman University and married Helen Ann Loftis on June 21, 1946.

Surviving are a son, Malcolm "Dee" DeWitt Bragg, Jr. (Christy) of Taylors; a daughter, Patti Bragg of Taylors; a sister, Joe Bragg Kilpatrick of Chattanooga, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Meri Anna DeGeer, Amanda Green, Tyler Wilson, and Malcolm DeWitt Bragg III; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Bates of Taylors

Mr. Bragg was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Bates.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Francis Alewine and Rev. Neil Cochran. Burial will follow in Taylors First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Taylors Fire Department.

Honorary escorts will be Fire Service Personnel.

The family is at the home.
