Mary Ann Bates Sanders, daughter of the late Marcus and Esther Brown Bates and formerly of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 4, 2013.

She was the wife of the late James W. Sanders, Sr., her high school sweetheart. Ann spent 38 years as an employee of JPS Textile Group as a buyer and retired in 2001. She was a member of Parisview Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, where she enjoyed Ansel's Sunday School Class and the love of a wonderful congregation of believers.

She is survived by daughters, Charlene Sanders of Greenville and Lydia Poole and husband, Greg, of Easley; son, James Sanders, Jr. and wife, Wendy, of Easley; six grandchildren, Brad, Michael, Jim, Taylor, Sarah Catherine, and Mary Elizabeth; six great grandchildren, Lexi, Bailey, Callaway, Evan, Celine, and Sydney; and sister, Jacqueline McIntyre of Weaverville, NC.

Ann is preceded by daughter, Wendy Lynn Sanders; grandson, Joseph Allyn Sanders; sister, Leticia "Tish" Parrish; and brothers, Marcus Bates, Jr. and Billy G. Bates.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Parisview Baptist Church with a memorial service following.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parisview Baptist Church, 100 Bud Street, Greenville, SC 29617.
