Quilla Mae Chasteen Pindar
Quilla Mae Chasteen Pindar, 84, of Greenville, wife of Duane Wilday Pindar, Sr., died Saturday, January 19, 2013.
Born in Buncombe County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Dee and Vernie Nease Davis.
Mrs. Pindar retired from Wunda Weve Textiles where she was employed as an engineer clerk. She was also a former member of Buncombe Road Baptist Church. She was known as the "Biscuit Lady" at Oakmont Nursing Home where she volunteered for many years.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 31 years, are a daughter, Cathy C. Moody (Sidney E. "Butch"), of Greenville; a son, Michael Lee Chasteen (Robin), of Rocky Mount, N.C.; a granddaughter, Pamela Ann Brady (Micheal); two stepdaughters, Barbara Lord, of Greenville; and Susan Dolan, of Oneonta, N.Y.; and a step son, Duane (Billy) Pindar, Jr., of Gilboa, N.Y.
She was predeceased by one great granddaughter, Amber Nicole Brady.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee, Northwest. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, West.
