Rodney H. Burns, 76, of 15 Peach Wood Trail, died November 16, 2012 at his home.

A native of Washington, D.C., son of the late Harry Burns and Hazel Fowler Burns Aalto, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of New Testament Christian Fellowship.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Harmel Burns of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Wanda Faith Sewell of New York and Dawn Marie and Ray Mathis of West Virginia; a son, Shawn Kevin Sewell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; step-son, Earl Harmel of Kingston, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Jason Jacobs, Brian Hoffman, Heather Harmel and William Harmel; and two great-grandchildren, Chance Jacobs and Abbie Gale Thomason.

Mr. Burns was predeceased by his step-father, William Aalto.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at New Testament Christian Fellowship, conducted by Rev. Scott Mills. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
