Theodore Willingham Malphrus, 84, of Greenville, SC passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Born in Ridgeland, SC, he was the son of Dosia and Willouck Malphrus.

Mr. Malphrus graduated from Clemson in 1952 with a degree in Architectural Engineering. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served in World War II. He retired from Metromont Materials and was active in many civic and professional organizations. Ted was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist. He was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Jensie Rush Malphrus and his three daughters and sons-in-law Mary and Jack Linder, Drs. Ann Malphrus and John Glymph, Jr., and Dodie and Ric Davis. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Will Davis of Charleston, SC, Elizabeth Robinson of Washington, D.C., and Erika Robinson of New York City. In addition he is survived by a brother, Wofford Malphrus, and a sister, Rowena Wannamaker.

Services will be on November 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Earle Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Stephen F. Clyborne officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Graveside services to be held at a later date, Grahamville Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC.
