Thelma McGaha Anderson, 85, widow of George Terrell Anderson, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Francis, Downtown.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Omar Scott and Addie Murr McGaha.

A graduate of Parker High School, Mrs. Anderson retired from The Greenville News-Piedmont Company following 46 years of service. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Faith Bible Class.

Surviving are a daughter, Jean Anderson Dickson and husband, Mike, of Easley; a sister, Norma Grace Doss of the home; two grandchildren, Clifton Terrell Canady and Alan Kyle Canady; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Hedgepath.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with the funeral service following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 901 Easley Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, 104 Pin Oak Court, Easley.
