John Truman Lindsey, 90, of 4166 Donahue Road, husband of Nettie Sudduth Lindsey, formerly of Highway 414, died July 19, 2013 at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
A native of Greenville County, he was a son of the late John Malcolm and Nannie Ola Moon Lindsey. Mr. Lindsey was retired from grading and landscaping, and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. His first wife was the late Cynthia Hall Lindsey.
Surviving also are a son, Jonny Truman Lindsey of Landrum; a brother, Marshall Lindsey (Dorothy) of Landrum; three grandchildren, Crystal Lindsey (Mark) the first born grandchild raised in the home by Cynthia and Truman, Amanda Lindsey (Cody), and Jon Leon Lindsey (Dane'Dra); six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Riddle-Tran (Alecia), Drake Riddle (Bridget), and Grant Riddle (Amber), Alexis and Jayden Bryant, and Austin Bradley; and two great-great-grandchildren, Aalyha and Conner Riddle.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Woodrow and James Alvin Lindsey and five sisters, Velma Hayes Garrett, Eva Cole Laughter, Beatrice "Bunny" Smith, Whitlar Lindsey and Pretto Lindsey.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Terry Greene and Rev. Danny Emory. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Honorary escort will be the Visitation Team of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at The Wood Mortuary.
