Verla J. Smith

Fountain Inn

On October 17, 2012, Verla J. Smith, 82, joined her devoted husband, Archie J. Smith; and parents, Melvin Hamilton Fox and Emillissie Galloway Fox, in Heaven. She also joined her three departed brothers and six departed sisters. She leaves one dear sister, Sara Dunn of Easley.

Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Snow (John) of Simpsonville and Misty Miller (Ron) of Gray Court; grandsons, Ryan Miller (Ashley) of Boiling Springs, and Charlie Miller (Christina) of Waterloo; and two great grandchildren, Parker and Carleigh Miller of Waterloo.

Although born in Easley, she was a resident of Fountain Inn for over 50 years. She was an employee for Delta Woodside Mills for 20+ years. Mrs. Smith was a lady of high fashion with quiet dignity and grace, a member of Fairview Street Baptist Church, and Fountain Inn Activities Choir. She enjoyed flower gardens, shopping, and reading.

Private Graveside services were held.

We wish to express our gratitude to the staff of McCall Hospice House for their care during our mother's last days.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
