Josie Mae Burns, 89, of Greenville, widow of Maxie Henry Burns, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her residence.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late George Ernest and Annie Bell Dunn.
Mrs. Burns was a member of Reedy River Baptist Church for approximately 70 years. She loved cooking and gardening and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by four sons, Carroll, Ronald (Ann), Phillip (Ellen), and Joel (Sterling) Burns; six grandchildren, Bridgette Respess, Danielle Burns-Lewallen, Jeffrey, Glenn, Brooks and Josh Burns; six great grandchildren; and her loving caregiver and friend, Tammy Youngblood.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Ernest "Buck" Dunn, Jr.; and two sisters, Margie Roach and Frances Dunn.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church with the visitation prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow at Reedy River Baptist Church Cemetery.
