Travelers Rest
Lucille Anne Duck Duckett, 87, passed away on November 20, 2012 after a brief period of declining health. She spent her last days at home with her husband of 61 years, Forest B. "Bud" Duckett, and her children: Lynn D. Millwood of Dallas, TX, Col. Cheryl D. Allen (Greg) of Eden, UT, Becky Duckett (Dave Matthews) of Greenville, and Forest Duckett (Xu Chong) of Simpsonville; and her grandchild, Rebekah Matthews.
Born on October 7, 1925, in Madison Co., NC, Lucille lived a quiet life of gentle kindness and faithful integrity that positively impacted all those she knew through her industrious home life, her active involvement at Reedy River Baptist Church, her cheerful employment as a clerk at Travelers Rest High School, and her volunteer work with the North Greenville Food Pantry. She loved well, lived well and will be remembered well.
In addition to her immediate family, Mrs. Duckett is survived by one sister, Betty M. McNeil (Sam) of Greenville, TN, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Willard Berry Duck and Vertie Maney Duck; three brothers, Owen Duck, Dr. Otis Duck and W.B. Duck; and a sister, Lois D. Randolph.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 23, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Reedy River Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow the visitation. Burial will be in Reedy River Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reedy River Baptist Church Cemetery, Perpetual Care Fund, 871 US 25, Greenville, SC 29617, or the charity of one's choice.
The family will be at the home.
