Steven Burdge Obituary
Simpsonville
Steven Howard Burdge, 53, of Simpsonville, SC passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Open Arms Hospice in Simpsonville.
Mr. Burdge was born in Washington, DC but lived the majority of his life in SC. He was the son of his loving mother, Janice A. Burdge of Boone, NC and of the late Dr. David C. Burdge and his wife, stepmother and a special friend to Steven, Phyllis Osborne, of Inman, SC.
Survivors include a sister Lisa C. Burdge of Boone, NC; a stepsister Sommer Burdge of Atlanta, GA; a stepbrother Brandon Burdge, also of Atlanta, GA; several aunts, uncles and cousins; "adopted mother," Shirley Perkins, of Simpsonville, SC ; and Gigi, his constant canine companion.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 11 at Overbrook Gospel Chapel, 26 Overbrook Rd, Greenville, SC. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. C. Von Reynolds, long time best and most loyal friend and pastor of Seneca Baptist Church of Seneca, SC.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to McCall Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680.

May God bring peace to Steve's Family! Brother, you will be missed! The memories we had growing up have always been cherished and spoken about with joy amongst friends. The Dalton Brothers and First Addition (Lev, David, Birdie and Keith) will ride again at the Lord's will. Enjoy your reunion with your Dad.

I am so saddened to hear of Steve's passing. Though I haven't seen him in recent years, I have so many great memories of our time through High School and College that I will forever treasure. My heartfelt sympathy to his family, and prayers for comfort during this time.

Reflecting on the great times we had working together, Steve lived life with a passion for craftsmanship. We were blessed to have a great mentor who shared his knowledge and his time to better or lives. JW & Charlotte Roberts provided us the opportunity to learn skills, as well as providing us with a second home to hang out. Steve will be greatly missed, however we can find peace knowing he is in an amazing place with his dad.

I am sorry I never had the opportunity to meet Steve. Knowing his mom, Jan, and his sister, Lisa, and witnessing their servants' hearts firsthand, I regret this. Love, devotion, and care for their son and brother were unequaled. I am so sorry for your loss.

Steven and I went to high school together. Always handsome (like his father) and funny. I am thankful he is no longer suffering and with his dad in heaven. Dr. Burdge was my mother's doctor - and tended to her passing many years ago in the most caring way.

Steven Burdge, a smart and sweet man with many talents such as his love for architicure as he built things for friends and family. Steven even helped his dad, David, build a precious cat house for my cats to feel safe and warm during a storm or take lazy catnaps in the sun.
Steven loved to play the piano and even wrote some songs about life and peace.
Most of all, he loved his father so much, i know that he is finally with David again talking and sharing their experiences as they always did here on earth.---- and I know he is happy and set free from his ailing body. Praise to God for His great love and mercy to us, His children. Much prayer and love to the family and friends during this time of sadness and loss of Steve, may God's peace be close as we travel on our path that God has given to each of us as we journey home to Heaven .
