Henry Taylor Obituary

Henry Lewis "Luke" Taylor, 82, widower of Nelia Clevenger Taylor, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Henry Franklin and Emma Stone Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.
He was an avid musician who enjoyed performing with his brother Milton and close friends in a number of bands, including "The Mood Men" and "The Barons". He also enjoyed many years singing with the Bethel Baptist Church choir.
Surviving are three daughters, Denise Taylor Huffman (Gary) of Greenville, Anna Taylor Cheros (Kim) of Greenville and Amy Taylor Lindsey (Tracy) of Pickens; a son, Hank Taylor of Greenville; a sister, Martha Willis of Davis, NC; a brother, Milton Taylor of Greer; five grandchildren, Erik Huffman, Tony Cheros, Eva Marie Cheros, Taylor Cheros and Hope Taylor; and many special nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 403 Sulphur Springs Road, Greenville, SC 29617 or McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, Anna Cheros, 124 Sleepy Hollow Drive, Greenville, SC.
