Greer
Berlin Columbus Shelton, 86, of 3583 Highway 14 North, widower of Dorcas Edwards Shelton, died September 2, 2013 at his home.
A native of Haywood County, North Carolina, he was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired employee of American Hoechst, and a member of Washington Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Connor of Greer; three sons, Johnny Shelton of Greer, Eddie Shelton of Lyman, and Sammy Shelton of Campobello; three brothers, Zeb Shelton of Landrum, Ronnie Shelton of Greer, and James Messer of Clover; three sisters, Geneva McDowell of Asheville, North Carolina; Margaret Rhinehart of Waynesville, North Carolina, and Wilma Drew of Orlando, Florida; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Washington Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Drew Hines and Rev. Joe Price. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary escort will be the Ronnie Knight Sunday School Class of Washington Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Washington Baptist Church Building Fund, 3500 N. Highway 14, Greer, SC 29650.
