Greer
Fay Burgess Prather, 74, of 84 Ora Vista Brae, died April 28, 2013 at her home.
She was a native of Merryville, LA, a daughter of the late Will and Madge Dole Burgess, a retired employee of J.P. Stevens, Dunean Plant, and was of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.
Surviving are her husband, Donald C. Prather of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Tim Turner of Landrum; three grandchildren, Blake Turner and his wife, Christina, Brooke Martin and her husband, Gantt, and Amy Forrester and her husband, Trey, and two great-grandchildren, Jaxson Turner and Maddox Forrester.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn P. Armstrong and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Gerald Johnson and Rev. Houston Hunt. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary prior to the service.
The family is at the home of her daughter, 4216 Highway 414, Landrum, SC.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Ave., Greenville, S.C. 29605 or to Medi Home Hospice, 20 Roper Corner Circle, Suite B, Greenville, S.C. 29615.
