James Carroll Pittman

Greer

James Carroll Pittman, 76, of Greer, died May 13, 2013 at his home.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late Ernest and Louise Hughes Pittman, he was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired employee of J.P. Stevens. Mr. Pittman was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and member of the Ever Ready Sunday School Class.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Anlee Farmer Pittman of the home; two daughters, Pam Turner (Warren) and Cecilia McKee all of Greer; a son, Glen Pittman (Anne) of Greer; four grandchildren, Contessa Wright (Ryan), Dustin McKee, Alex McKee, and Makayla McKee; and one great-grandchild, Christian Wright.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Mark Smith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.

Memorials may be made to Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 572 Mount Lebanon Church Road, Greer, SC 29651.

Carroll was an extremely nice man. I had the pleasure of working with him for over 10 years. He was among the first to welcome me when I relocated to the Greenville office. He spoke of his love for his family and his church as well as his fondness for his work and NASCAR. We will miss you my friend.
