Greer
Jewell Garrett Reed, 78, of 122 Old Woodruff Road, widow of Gobel "Dick" Reed died April 27, 2013 at her home.
A native of Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Letha Smith Garrett, a retired employee of Apcoa Inc. at Greenville Spartanburg Airport, and was a member of Victor Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Denise "Dennie" Garrett and Nicki Reed both of the home and Rhoda Ward and her husband, Dallas of Greer; two sisters, Jean Thorne and Darlene Duck both of Greer and one grandson, Reed Ward, who was the light of her life.
She was predeceased also by one brother, Carlos Garrett and one sister, Ruth Cannada.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Victor Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery and Rev. Keith Kelly. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Ward, Joey Duck, Nicolas Amos, Ricky Duck, Tim Thorne, and Todd Thorne.
Honorary escorts will be Blake Thorne, Dallas Ward, and Rickey Fryman.
Memorials may be made to Victor Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1147, Greer, S.C. 29652.
