Greer
Mable Pope Balliew Welborn, 98, of 1 13th Street, widow of Wayne Welborn, died April 11, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A native of Mooresville, North Carolina, daughter of the late Hubert Herman and Bertha Eisenhower Pope, she was a retired employee of J.P. Stevens and a member of Victor Baptist Church. Her first husband was the late Doyle Balliew.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynette Balliew Hinds (Douglas) of Georgetown; a son-in-law, Carl T. Lowe of Clearwater, Florida; five grandchildren, Scott Hinds (Frankie), Allyson Hinds Cruise, Lisa K. Hinds Willhelm (Rob), Jeffrey Lowe (Theresa), and Todd Lowe (Suzanne); nine great-grandchildren, Savannah Hinds, Lanford Wrenn, Steven Wrenn, Blair Willhelm, Wofford Willhelm, Patrick Lowe, Jonathan Lowe, Lily Lowe, and Lauren Lowe; two great-great-grandchildren, Colin Wrenn and Kayla Wrenn; and a sister, Betty Pope Martin.
Mrs. Welborn was predeceased by a daughter, Martha Ann Balliew Lowe.
Visitation will be held 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Victor Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
