Ruby Sexton Obituary
Greer
Ruby Cooper Sexton, 89, formerly of 306 North Suber Road and resident of Emeritus at Greenville, widow of John Henry Sexton, died May 12, 2013 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Curtis Lee and Daisy Sherbert Cooper, she was a retired employee of Stone Manufacturing and a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Sunshiner's and Happy Hearts Club. She was formerly VSP Director at Hampton Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Ken Pittman of Taylors and Nancy and Ronald Center of Greer.
Mrs. Sexton was predeceased by three brothers, Curtis J. Cooper, Ansel Cooper, and Jackie Cooper and a sister, Minnie Edison.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hampton Heights Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Larry Carter. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Honorary escorts will be the Ruby Whitmire Sunday School Class and Vera Mahon Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be held 7:00-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Charlotte Pittman, 9 Meadowglen Place, Greer, SC 29651.
Memorials may be made to Hampton Heights Baptist Church or Lottie Moon Fund, 2511 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29615 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356.
