Benjamin Tillman Green, Jr., 90, died May 6, 2013 at Homewood Assisted Living.
A native of Greer, son of the late Benjamin T. Green, Sr. and Margarett M. Miller Green, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, a graduate of Furman University, and a retired employee of Penn National. He was a member of Greer First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir, former minister of music at Fairview Baptist Church and Duncan First Baptist Church, and a member of the Greer Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are two sisters, Doris Margarett Green and Polly Rebecca McElrath both of Greenville; two nieces, Susan M. Burch (Walter) and Dr. Juliana McElrath (Ken Stuart); a great-niece, Cameron Oswald (Edward); and great-nephews, Walter M. Burch, Jr. (Hunter) and Benjamin M. Stuart.
Mr. Green was predeceased by a brother Louis Gardner Green.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Wilson Nelson and Mrs. Dottie Bryson. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
Honorary escort will be the Greer Kiwanis Club.
Visitation will be held 3:00-4:00 p.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home of his niece Susan Burch, 121 Rubiwood Circle, Greer, SC 29651.
