Betty Ann Thackston McMullan


Betty Ann Thackston McMullan, 61, died October 2, 2013.

She was a strong, loving and generous woman who loved her family and the simple pleasures of life.

Born in Arlington, VA, she was the daughter of Carl. R. Thackston and the late Ruth Bryson Thackston.

Ms. McMullan was a Travel Agent for Travel Inc. and once served as Acting Director of Loaves and Fishes.

She was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and was a member of the Loaves and Fishes Sunday School Class.

Surviving, in addition to her father, are her son, Jason T. McMullan, M.D., his wife, Kate, and Grandchildren, Lillian Ruth and Thackston J. McMullan, of Cincinnati, OH; and her sister, Barbara Ruth T. Gross, of New York City.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Earle Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
