Robert "Bob" Dennis Gordon, 66, of Landrum, husband of Ruth (Henson) Gordon "Ellie", died Friday, November 23, 2012.
Born in Baltimore, Md., he was a son of the late William Dennis Gordon and Doris Hope Hampton Gordon.
Mr. Gordon served in the U.S. Army. He also served the upstate for over 26 years as a state licensed contractor. During that time he was an exhibitor in the annual Home Builders Association of Greenville Spring Home and Garden Show. He founded Bob's Home Remodeling and Bob's Window Company, a business his wife joined in 2009. He built his business on "honesty, integrity and quality workmanship." One of Bob's favorite pastimes was cooking Christmas Eve dinner for the children of Miracle Hill Children's Home in Pickens, S.C.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, whom he lovingly nicknamed "Miss Ellie", are one son, Robert Dennis Gordon, II "Rob", of Landrum; one step-son, Eric Smith (Renee), of Easley; one brother, John Bruce Gordon, of Anderson; and four grandchildren, Robert Dennis Gordon, III (Dalton); Brandon Lee Gordon; Zachary Smith; and Erica Smith.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Gordon.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 26, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home downtown chapel. Visitation will follow until 5:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Miracle Hill Children's Home, 117 Drummond Lane, Pickens, S.C. 29671.
