Charles Perry Finley


Charles Perry Finley, 85, of Taylors, husband of Lurline Pruitt Finley, died Monday, December 31, 2012, at his residence.

Born in Pickens, he was the son of the late John Perry and Kate Gossett Finley.

Mr. Finley was retired from the United States Air Force and was in the insurance industry for many years. He was a member the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by three daughters, Charlene Ward, and husband, Kenneth, of Mauldin, Susan Salzman, and husband, Mark, of Lake Wylie, Telisa Moyd, and husband, Danny, of Greenville; son, Charles Calvin Finley, of Fountain Inn; 9 grandchildren, Danny, Chris, Ryan, Jonathan, Brooke, Livingston, Alexander, Sarah, and Mary Kathryn; 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Finley; and two sisters, Edna McCranie, and Martha Rutherford.

He was preceded in death by grandson, Bennett Moyd; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Lee Road Baptist Church. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
