Charles "Charlie" Francis Habighorst

Anchorage, AK

Charles "Charlie" Francis Habighorst, 50, passed away March 12, 2013 following a lengthy illness at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born March 9, 1963 in New Orleans, Louisiana and was the son of the late Francis Joseph Habighorst.

Charlie is survived by his mother, Betty C. (Junior) Hamlett of Woodruff, SC; partner, Joyce Bartolini of Anchorage; daughter, Kristin H. (Craig) Lange and grandchildren, Isabel and Wyatt of Easley, SC; brother, John Russ (LeAnn) Habighorst of St. Cloud, Minnesota; sisters, Karen W. (Steve) Rogers of Greenville, SC; Vicki W. (Steve) Acker of Spartanburg, SC and Alice H. Hill of Valley Mills Texas; stepbrothers Allan and John Hamlett of SC ; David (Linda) Hamlett of Florida and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by stepsister, Donna H. Gossier.

He attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Wade Hampton High School and Greenville Technical College. He served in the United States Air Force. Charlie spent many years in tree service work in South Carolina and retired from Costco in Anchorage.

Charlie loved Alaska and his wishes were to be cremated and his ashes spread at Mount McKinley at the Denali National Forest. His family will carry out his wishes in July following a brief memorial service.
