Clarine C. Bergren
Clarine Cunningham Bergren, 92, formerly of Greenville, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Scott and Clarine Totty Cunningham.
Mrs. Bergren was a graduate of Westhampton College, University of Richmond. She was a former President of the Greenville branch of the American Association of University Women, former President of the Greenville Woman's Club and the Crescent Literary Club. She served as Chairman of the Board of the Sarah Simpson Qossett Retirement for Ladies. She was a member of First Baptist, Greenville and attended the Fidelis Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, USAF Lt. Col. (Ret.) David Edson Bergren, Jr. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David E. III and Jeanne Bergren, USAF Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Scott C. and Pamela Bergren, and Dr. (Capt, USNR) Carl T. and Rebecca Bergren; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Saturday, November 16, at 2:00p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Baxter M. Wynn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
