Donald Christopher Dear, 56, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013.
Born in Greenville, SC on February 25, 1957, he was the son of the late Claude F. and Christine Watson Dear. Christ was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He was the Owner-Operator of South-Atlantic Services, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Brianne D. Callahan and her husband, Dustin, two grandsons, Davis Charles and Mills Christopher Callahan, all of Simpsonville, SC; a brother, Kenneth C. Dear, of Columbia, SC; sister-in-laws, Carol K. Dear, of Georgetown, SC and Marilyn M. Standridge, of Greer, SC; a brother-in-law, Bill Thompson (Sandra), of Gray Court, SC; friend and former wife, Lori H. Dear, of Simpsonville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Chris was preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh W. Dear and Robert L. Dear, Sr., a sister, Mary E. Thompson, and a nephew, W. Wesley Thompson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at First Baptist Church Simpsonville. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm conducted by his nephew, Rev. C. Noel Dear.
