Emma Murray Wood, 94, widow of Joel Edward Wood, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Laurel Baye HealthCare of Greenville.
Born in Edgefield, she was a lifelong resident of Greenwood. Mrs. Wood was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Eva Dorn Murray.
Surviving are her daughter, Emma Jo and husband, Rev. Van Thomas of Taylors; a brother, Vernon and wife, Inez Murray of Ninety Six; two grandchildren, Treva Thomas Hamlin of Rock Hill and Van B. III and wife, Stacey Thomas of Simpsonville; five great-grandsons, Hunter, Alex and Hayden Hamlin; Grayson and Landon Thomas.
She was also predeceased by brothers, Paul Murray and Yancey Murray; sister, Latrelle Berry and great-grandson, Thomas Garrison Hamlin.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:30 Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Van Thomas and Rev. Louie Murray officiating.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 Wednesday afternoon.
