Floyd Eugene "Gene" Chandler, Jr.
Floyd Eugene "Gene" Chandler, Jr., died on November 20, 2013 from complications of polio and Type I diabetes. He was 70 years old. He died the way he lived, with dignity and courage.
Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Floyd and Nellie Pearson Chandler.
Gene was a graduate of the Class of 1961 at Hillcrest High and the Class of 1965 at Furman University.
He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and the NRA.
He is survived by his sister, Pamela Chandler Davis and her husband, Dean; a nephew Grayson Glur and his father Gerald Glur. He is also survived by an Aunt, Sara Pearson Banks; two special cousins Wylda Chandler and Diane Banks Bledsoe, and five other first cousins and their families.
Gene was dearly loved and was an inspiration to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast, 1604 NE Main Street, Simpsonville, with a Memorial Service following in the chapel at 3:00 p.m.
The family will be at the residence.
