Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Grismore, 68, passed away Saturday July 7, 2012 at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston, SC. He was born on March 26, 1944 in Evansville, Indiana to Hazel and George "Bud" Grismore.

Jerry has worked as a project engineer nationally and internationally for over forty years. He was employed by Fluor International for 19 years in Greenville, South Carolina. For the past twelve years, he worked as a Senior Project Engineer with Jacobs Engineering in Goose Creek, South Carolina. He has also served as a Deacon with the Catholic Diocese of Charleston for twenty three years.

Jerry is survived by: his mother, Hazel and step-father, Kenneth of Evansville, IN; his wife, Patricia of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his children, Michael (Emily) of Columbia, SC, Kenneth (Gloria) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Shawn (Erin) of Atlanta, GA, and Jason (Audrey) of Baton Rouge, LA; his siblings, Steve (Donna) of Evansville, IN and Mike (Janice) of Newburgh, IN; and his 9 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Stella Maris Church, 1204 Middle St., PO Box 280, Sullivan's Island, SC, 29482, where Jerry served as a Deacon for many years.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 6PM, on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Rd., Mt. Pleasant, SC, 29464. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at the Stella Maris Catholic Church at 10 am on Friday, July 13, 2012 with burial to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
