Hugh Stanley Turner


Hugh Stanley Turner, 72, of Cateham Way, husband of the late Carol Bain Turner, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born September 8, 1940 in Greenville County, he was a son of the late William and Lillie Kelley Turner. Mr. Turner was raised by his grandparents, the late John and Elizabeth Turner. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam and was awarded two Bronze Stars. He was a retired mechanic at Penske Trucking for over twenty years. Mr. Turner was a member of Faith Baptist Church but later in life attended Enon Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather Lindsey; brothers, Gene Turner and Thomas Turner; sisters, Doris Wood, Geraldine Mohr, Lillie Granruth and Arlene Perry; two grandsons; and a special niece and caregiver, Susan Whittington.

In addition to his parents, grandparents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Oliver Turner, Calvin Turner and James Turner.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home -Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of Tom and Jackie Turner, 3147 Earls Bridge Rd., Easley, SC, 29640.
