Mr. Jada Eugene Hayes, 88, went home to be with his beloved wife Sarah, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, July 28, 2014.

Born in Anderson County, a son of the late Jada Eli and Naomi Whitmire Hayes, Mr. Hayes retired from Southern Machinery and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and golfer having won over one hundred golf tournaments, and worked at the Furman Golf Course for several years after his retirement. He was a US Navy Veteran having served during WWII.

Surviving are a son, Stephen E. Hayes (Ann) of Fountain Inn; a daughter, Dianne Hammond of Greenville; two grandchildren, Stephen Hayes and Heather Millsaps; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah Grace Millsaps, Alan Hayes Millsaps, and Jada Eugene Hayes.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, where the body will be placed at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:30 AM until 12:45 PM at the church, prior to the service.

The family is at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Ann Hayes, 101 Farmwood Drive, Fountain Inn, SC 29644.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund, 1623 Hester Store Road, Easley, SC 29640.
