Mrs. Jencie Knight Estridge, 96, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 20, 2012

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, at 2:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Sosebee and Dr. Scott Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park--S. Cherry Road. Family visitation will be held at Green Funeral Home Northwest Chapel on Thursday, August 23, 6:30 pm - 8 pm.

Born in Kershaw County on February 14, 1916 to the late John Wesley and Mary Stroud Knight, she was married to Jefferson Odell Estridge for 59 years prior to his death in 1994. Together they had four children.

Jencie was a stay at home mom and seamstress who later worked in retail at the WT Grant Store on Cherry Road. She was an active member of Northside Baptist Church where she served in many roles including WMU Director, Young at Heart president, member of Golden Lights choir and youth training union coordinator. While at Northside she established the God Is So Good to Me Sunday School class for mentally and physically challenged adults. She was honored for 15 years of service to this Sunday School class.

She was predeceased by six brothers and sisters; Andrew Knight, Georgia Knight Byrd, Clyde Knight, Kate Knight Lee, Mildred Knight Pittman, and Wesley Knight.

Surviving are her children Jinell Carroll Robinson (Ed) of Clermont, Florida, Elaine Guyton (Charles) of Rock Hill, Larry Estridge (Kim) of Greenville, SC, and Pansy Yates (Bill) of Rock Hill and grandchildren, Debbie Gembecki (John), Stan Carroll (Christine), and Greg Carroll (Janet) of Florida, David Guyton (Crystal), Chuck Guyton (Janet), Amy Preslar(Chuck) of Rock Hill, Natalie Campbell(Dave), Brad Estridge(Melanie), Margaret Barest and Lori Chisom (Eric) all of Greenville. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.
