Joe Morris Bracken, 73 of Greenville, SC, passed on from this world into his eternal rest in Heaven July 7th, 2016. He was the son of the late Henry Jackson Bracken and Agnes Hale Bracken. He is survived by his former spouse and friend, Iva Puckett Bracken, three children, Wendi Nicole Bracken, Darren Scott (Gina) Bracken and Joel Clay (Rosemary) Bracken, four grand daughters, Alexis Julia Bracken, Cassidy Lillian Bracken, Nicole Angelica Bracken and Tristen Scott Bracken, three siblings, James Sidney (Virginia) Bracken, Mable Bracken Adams Hawkins and Richard H. (Beverly) Bracken. He was predeceased by four siblings, Margaret Bracken Hayes, Lily Bracken Lenderman, Charles Henry Bracken, and Robert Eugene Bracken Sr.

Joe was born at home in Central and raised in both Pendleton and Greenville, SC. He was a graduate of Berea High School. He was a U.S.Navy Veteran and was stationed aboard the USS Everglades destroyer tender in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba during the Cuban missile crisis in October of 1964. He came to know Jesus in January 1970 and attended the Fruitland Bible Institute for a time in Hendersonville, NC in 1974. In his careers, he worked as a route driver then supervisor for Pet Dairy, Frito Lay, and Moore's Potato Chip Co.. He later became a salesman for Sanders Brothers Construction, a security guard at Shriners Hospital for Children and most recently a mapping driver for Google. He was currently retired at the time of his passing.

A celebration of his life and memorial service will be held, Saturday July 16th, 2016 at Reedy River Baptist Church, 871 N Hwy 25 Bypass, Greenville, SC at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Greenville.
