Kathleen Bishop Obituary
Kathleen "Kay" Keane Bishop

Kathleen "Kay" Keane Bishop, 93, of Greenville, loving wife of the late George W. Bishop, Jr., died Tuesday, June 26, 2012.

Born on Staten Island, NY, on April 25, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John J. and Kathleen Carey Keane.

Kay loved her family and her life-long friends, and showed her love every day as a wife, a mother, and a beloved friend, always sharing her love of travel, culture, education, music, and faith. She volunteered—Retreat for Shut-Ins (St. Louis), Crisis Line (Florida for 23 years), and in churches and schools wherever she lived. She loved to travel and created fabulous memories in Ireland, England, Scotland, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and throughout most of the states in the U.S. She also loved playing golf, bridge, and the piano, reading voraciously, attending the theatre, and sharing her infectious laugh with everyone around. She was a woman people loved-to-love.

Mrs. Bishop is survived by a daughter Kathleen (Kathie Bishop Yigdall) and her husband, Marty, of Greenville; two sons, Peter and his wife, Lue, of Houston, and Stephen, and his wife, Janice, of Denver; six grand-children, Kerri, Wendy, Peter, Annie, D'Ann, and Katie; six great grandchildren, Craig, Jenna, Cormac, Grace, Rowan, and Finnegan; and her sister, Ruthann Keane McGrade.

She was preceded in death by a brother, J. Carey Keane.

Memorial Masses will be conducted at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Greenville, in July, and at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ft. Walton Beach, in August. Mrs. Bishop's cremains will be interred with those of her loving husband in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.

Memorials may be made to Covenant House, at www.CovenantHouse.org in Kathleen K. Bishop's name.

Details regarding the funeral Masses will be forthcoming.
