Lydia Elizabeth Vaughn Holcombe, 90, of Windsor House, 1931 Pelham Road, widow of John Willis Holcombe, died Saturday, October 27, 2012.
Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Finley and Mamie Green Vaughn.
Mrs. Holcombe was retired from the Retail industry and was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church and past member of the Ladies Sunday School class. She was a lifetime member of the BPOE Lodge #858 Does Drove #60.
She is survived by a brother, Harry J. Vaughn of Greenville. Also two daughters, Teresa Lagares (Sam) of Greenville and Libby Summey (Marlon) of Williamston; three sons, John Holcombe, Jr., of Gray Court, Charles M. Holcombe (Kay) of Greenville and Steven R. Holcombe (Kim) of Seoul, S. Korea; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Remembrance Chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park, with entombment following.
