Mary Louise Hutchinson Guion entered eternal life on Friday, January 31, 2014, at the Foothills Presbyterian Home in Easley, SC. Originally from Burlington County, New Jersey, she began married life at the Guion family plantation "Green Hill" near Lugoff, SC, after her 1933 marriage to Louis I. Guion, Jr. In the late 1940's the family moved to Dallas, TX until she relocated to Camden, SC in the mid-1960's to care for her aunt, Mrs. George R. Cook. After thirty-four years in Camden, extensive travel, and the development of Carriage House Lane, her final fourteen years were spent in the Presbyterian Retirement Homes in Summerville and Easley, SC.
She was preceded in death by her sister Beatrice Hutchinson Brown, Louis I. Guion, Jr., from whom she was divorced; a grandson, John Palmer Guion, and a granddaughter, Susan Guion Anderson. She is survived by her four children, Louis Guion 3rd, Marion Atkins, Jane Bruce Brooker, Dr. William Guion, and their spouses, eight grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was a long-time member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Camden, SC, where a memorial service will be held in the spring of 2014.
