Mildred Keown McBride


Mildred Colleen Keown McBride, 78, of 325 Clinkscales Road, died Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Myron M. Keown and Eunice Perrin Keown Parris. She was a retired church secretary and was a member of River of Life Church of God where she was a choir member and taught in the 2 year old Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Louie H. McBride of the home; son, Michael H. McBride and wife, Lynn of Simpsonville; two daughters, Nancy McBride Arrington and husband, George of Statesboro, GA, and Kathy McBride Willis and husband, Rev. David Tony Willis of Manassas, VA; eight grandchildren, Heather Philyaw Mathieson, Stephanie Willis Berry (Glen), Erin McBride Fredericks (Ben), Jonathan David Willis (Sarah), Michael Harrison McBride II, Katherine Wallace Harris, Emily McCain McBride, and Desirae Arrington Rice (Spencer); two great grandchildren, Jayden Carter Berry and Hannah Sophia Rice; five brothers, Herman Keown (Sylvene) of Starr, Talmadge Keown (Shirley), Albert Keown (Barbara), James Keown (Linda), and Frank Keown (Sandy), all of Anderson; four sisters, Dorothy Hayes, Barbara Burroughs (Rudolph), Sue Carnes (Gary), all of Anderson and Linda Dorn (Wilburn) of Pelzer; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Poore (Adger) of Greenville and Elizabeth McBride of Anderson; numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Chaplain Rudolph Burroughs and Rev. Patrick Keown. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the residence.
