Nicholas Peter "Nick" Paulos

Greenville/Athens, Greece

Nicholas Peter Paulos, 85, originally from Greenville, SC and later moved to Athens, Greece died peacefully in his sleep on November 21, 2012. The burial was held on Friday, November 23 in Athens, Greece.

Born on November 18, 1927 in Augusta, GA and soon after moved to Greenville, SC. He was the son of late Peter George Paulos of Tripoli, Greece and Pauline Kanas Paulos of Sparta, Greece. He was predeceased by his three brothers, George, John and Tony; and his two sisters Mary and Demetra. Nick was the youngest of the Paulos siblings. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. His love of college football was only surpassed by his love for his family and his faith. Nick had a huge infectious personality. He never met a stranger, and once a friend you were his friend for life.

Husband of ZoZo Paulos of Athens, Greece, he was the beloved father of Marcia Reese and her husband Mark Reese; and grandfather (Papou) to their sons Rhett and Brandon, all of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Paulos, and many loving nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Nick was a buyer and department manager at Myers Arnold before moving to Greece in the late 1970's. Nick graduated from Greenville High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and ran track at the University of Georgia. He was a member and boys' Sunday school teacher of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral while living in Greenville. He was a member of the Order of AHEPA.
