Sara Edith Brown went home to be with the Lord on her 84th birthday, November 28, 2012 at Oakmont East Nursing Center.
Born November 28, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose Claude Brown and Mary Tollison Brown.
She is survived by two sisters, Josie Brezeale and Lois Timmons of Greenville, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as extended family. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Henry J. Brown, T.C. Brown, Truman A. Brown, Cecil G. Brown, William R. Brown and E. Ray Brown; and three sisters, Ruby Harmon Folk, Lucille B. Ashmore Davis and Grace B. Styles.
Edith lived her entire life in Greenville County, more than 60 years on Simmons Avenue. She graduated from Laurel High School and Draughons Business College. Her chosen career was office management in the food brokerage business where her last employment was at Action Sales with Tony Crusco.
An accomplished bowler, she continued to participate as long as health permitted. As a lifelong member of Laurel Baptist Church, she cherished the friendships made there through the years.
Heartfelt appreciation is extended to Wendi Brown for the concern, honesty, determination, and unselfish love she has shown Aunt Edith throughout the years. Also, thanks to Heartland Hospice Services Greenville for their kind care.
Private services will be held.
