Thomas J. "Tom" Miller

Mr. Thomas J. "Tom" Miller, 69, of Anderson, SC, beloved husband of forty-nine years to Ann Crabtree Miller and son of the late Reeder and Irene Smith Miller, entered into rest Tuesday, October 26th, 2010.
Born in Harrisburg, PA, he had been a resident of Anderson, SC, since 1977. Tom attended Georgia Tech and remained a fan of the "Ramblin Wreck". He retired from Michelin in Greenville, SC, after over thirty years of service as a Mechanical Engineer. For nearly 40 years, he was an enthusiastic volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America serving the youth of the Upstate in various capacities. He was honored to receive the Wood Badge beads, the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver award. In addition, he gave leadership at six consecutive National Scout Jamborees from 1985 thru 2005.
In addition to his spouse, Tom is survived by, son Reed Miller, his wife Grace and their children, Nathaniel, Alexander and Philip, residents of North Augusta, SC; son US Army CW4 Andy Miller, his wife Lori and their children, Aaron and twin daughters, Fiona and Katherine, residents of Selah, WA; and son Matt Miller and his wife Jenn, residents of Philadelphia, PA.
At his request, Tom was cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date in the Upstate.
Tom had respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and memorials in his memory be made to the Blue Ridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America, #1 Park Plaza, Greenville, SC 29607 (www.blueridgecouncil.org) or 864-233-8363
