Walter Glenn Brackin, of 11 Hidden Oak Terrace, Simpsonville, SC, died Thursday, April 26, 2012.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Walter

Glenn Brackin, Sr. and the late Laney Mae Brackin of Columbia, SC.

Glenn attended Clemson University and was First Vice President - Investments for Wells Fargo, Greenville, SC. He served the community with a passion! Glenn founded the Greenville Clemson Lunch Club and the Leadership Clemson Annual Conference. He served on the Greenville Clemson Club Board, Clemson University Board of Visitor, and Alumni National Council. Glenn was an IPTAY Representative and a Super Tiger award winner. He was Past President of SC Athletic Hall of Fame and the American Cancer Society of Greenville. Glenn was a loyal YMCA member for over 30 years.

Surviving are his wife, Christa Harrelson Brackin and his sons Walter Glenn Brackin, III of Columbia, SC, Andrew Gregg Brackin and his wife, Anne, of Greenville, SC, and Mark Calvin Brackin of Simpsonville, SC. Also surviving are his three sisters Carol Ard, Peggy Hope and Brenda Edens all of Columbia, SC and eight nephews.

Services will be conducted 2:30 PM on Monday, April 30, 2012 First Baptist Greenville, with Dr. Baxter Wynn officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 1pm to 2:15pm at the church.

A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clemson University Athletic Scholarship Fund.
