Warren Harold Christian, Sr., 90, of Greenville, widower of Doris Marie Hopkins Christian, went to heaven to be with his Lord on Monday, February 25, 2013.
Born in Walhalla, he was the son of the late Tenney Mack and Maggie Smith Christian.
Mr. Christian served in the US Army during WWII where he was a decorated soldier in the 95th Infantry, the "Iron Men of Metz."
Mr. Christian retired from Butler Shoes and was a member of Calvary First Baptist Church for over 40 years where he was a Chairman of the Deacons.
He is survived by daughter, Jo Christian and husband, Wayne Cleary; son, W. Harold Christian, Jr. and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Matt Christian and wife, Meg; Josh Christian and wife, Laura Beth; and Jill Bogle and husband, Brian; great grandchildren, Macaila Bogle, Camden Christian, Savannah Bogle, Caeden Christian, Emme Sue Christian, and Cullen Christian.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery West.
