William Milford Allison, 93 of 43 Smith St was called to his heavenly home on January 19, 2011. He was born in Greenville County, South Carolina, a son of the late Clarence George Allison and the late Feddie Rebecca Tripp Allison. He was retired from Riegel Textile Corporation and was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church.

Mr. Allison served in the US Army from 1941 -1945 and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the 41st Infantry Division and was on the first ship to go to the Pacific after Pearl Harbor. He was a member of General Douglas MacArthur's Jungaleers.
He was an avid fisherman, was a member of Ware Shoals Park Riverrats, loved gardening and lived life to the fullest.
Surviving him are: three sons, William Ronald Allison, Piedmont, Steven Michael Allison, Ware Shoals and Stanley Marcus Allison, Birmingham, Alabama; three daughters, June Allison Roark, Ware Shoals, Linda Allison Peters, Belton, Donna Allison Rachels, Williamston; two sisters, Bertha Rice and Jessie Allison both of Piedmont; thirteen grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and his beloved eight cats.
Funeral and burial services will be conducted Friday at 2 pm at Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery, Anderson with Rev. Justin Phillips officiating.
The family is at the home of a grandson, Joel Smart, 45 Smith St. and will receive friends Thursday 6-8 pm at Parker-White Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Greenwood Humane Society., P.O. Box 49776, Greenwood, S.C. 29649
