Ronald Deems Obituary

Ronald Wesley Deems, 64, husband of Miyoung Choi Deems, died Thursday, May 20, 2004.

Born in Clairton, Pa., he was a son of the late Tillman and Grace England Deems. He was a graduate of West Virginia State University, and later received his Master's Degree in Engineering from Carnagie-Mellon University. He was an employee of Wean United Engineering Co. until 1979, and Fluor Daniel from 1979 until 1995.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 28 years, are a son, Ronald Deems Jr., and his wife, Grace, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and their children, Ronald Deems III, Jeffrey Deems, Justine Deems and Daniel Deems; a daughter, Tami D. McCleary, and her husband, Ray, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and their children, Jennifer McCleary, Brittany McCleary and Alex McCleary; a son, Scott Deems, and his wife, Jo, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and their children, Scott Jr., Caleb, John, Andy, Mike and Sam; a daughter, Kristine D. Greve, and her husband, Curtis, also of Pittsburgh, Pa., and their children, Michael Greve, John Greve and Courtney Greve.

Traveling extensively, and living in Asia, Europe and Africa, he lived life to the fullest, and his favorite verse of scripture was Psalm 23. He was loved much and will be missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2004, at The Mackey Mortuary, with the Rev. Carlos Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
