Carrie Bramlett Tate, 89, widow of Boyd V. Tate, died May 5, 2012 at Alpha Health and Rehab of Greer. Her husband, son of the late Henry Lee Tate Sr. and Lydia Parker Tate, gave his life for his country in the final 20 days of World War II in Europe.

A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Jesse J. Bramlett and Hettie Fleming Bramlett, she was a retired employee of Stone Manufacturing Company after 34 years of service and a member of Fairview Baptist church where she served for many years in the children's Sunday School Department. She was a member of the James Crocker Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a son, Larry V. Tate of Greer; three sisters: Eugenia B. Brown

(Jerome) of Greer, Thelma B. Blackstock (Jerry) of Taylors and Evelyn B. Teems (Donnie) of Cross Hill and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tate was predeceased by two brothers: Cleve Bramlett and Tom Bramlett and two infant brothers: Jesse J. Bramlett, Jr. and Harold Bramlett.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Dr. James Crocker and Dr. Tom Burns. Sacred music will be provided by Rev. J.N. McFadden, soloist and Mr. Jerry Stepp, soloist and organist/pianist. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the following nephews: Gary Bramlett, Darrell Brown, Doyle Tate, Phillip Tate, Danny Stone, Landis Blackstock, Keith Buck and Keith Darnell. Honorary escort will be members of the James Crocker Sunday School class. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home.
