Sarah Jean Cobb Chastain, 83, widow of the late George "Ed" Edwin Chastain, of 110 Bennett Street, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Elbert C. and Ruby Jane Kinsler Cobb. Mrs. Chastain was the Office Manager for MD Cleveland Wholesale Company and was the County Secretary for South Carolina Farm Bureau. She was a member of Westminster Wesleyan Church and church treasurer.
Survivors include her son, George K. Chastain and wife Melissa of Georgetown, SC; daughter, Ann Chastain Cobb and husband Les of Greenville; and 3 grandchildren, Cody Cobb, and George Ethan and Elizabeth Ann Chastain.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin and Milton Cobb.
A Funeral Service will be held 3 PM, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
