Robert Lee "Mac" McPherson

Robert Lee "Mac" McPherson, 95 of Greenville, SC passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Born in Laurens County, SC he was the son of the late James Cleveland and Leona Davis McPherson. He was owner of McPherson Amoco Service Station from which he retired after 35 years. He was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a member of the Lawton Bible Class. He also was past president of the Gold K Kiwanis Club and the Greenville Service Station Assn. Robert volunteered with Meals on Wheels where he was recognized for his long and faithful service. He is survived by two grandchildren: Melissa McAlister and Ronald Trotter both of Greenville; four great-grandchildren: Jason, Ryan, Gunnar McAlister and Sebastian Trotter; one great-grandchild: Sophie McAlister. Mac was predeceased by his wife: Velma Garner McPherson, a daughter: Brenda McPherson Trotter, and two sisters: Virginia Chapman and Pauline Carroll. Visitation will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 10:30 am - 12:00 noon with the funeral at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home and entombment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
