Geraldine C. Stratton


Geraldine C. Stratton of Greenville went home to be with her Saviour at 10:56 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014, at Rolling Green Village. She was born in Worcester, MA on April 24, 1930, to the late Roby and Roxy (Feindel) Crandall

On June 8, 1951, she married Melvin L. Stratton and he passed away on December 29, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lynn, two brothers, Roby Lynwood and William Douglas, and a sister, Faye Elizabeth.

She is survived by a sister, Margaret (Alan) Wade of Worcester, MA, two sons, David (Dawn) Stratton of Lima, OH, and Richard (Holly) Stratton here in Greenville, and a daughter, Linda (D. Keith) Hamblen of Lima, OH, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Gere ("Gerry"), as she liked to be called, taught for over 35 years at Bob Jones Academy in the field of Language Arts, and later in Culinary Arts Preparation. She was heavily involved in the hospitality ministries of Hampton Park Baptist Church until failing health ensued.

Dr. David D. Yearick, Pastor Emeritus of Hampton Park Baptist Church will officiate at a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at 875 State Park Road 29609. Visitation will be Friday, February 14, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wilds Christian Camp P.O.
