Eva T. Moody
Eva T. Moody, 85, widow of Claude A. Moody, entered the gates of Heaven on Friday, February 14, 2014, at Greenville Place Memory Care.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Edd Aaron and Mary Cleo McCollum Taylor.
Eva was employed at Tate Furniture Co. for over 30 years where she was Secretary/Treasurer of the company for many of those years. After retirement, Eva opened Kids Kountry Klubhouse Child Care Centers and was the owner/director for 16 years. The children (and parents) lovingly called her "Mama Eva." She was also the owner of Marlene's Dance Development for 14 of those years. A born again Christian, she wrote many poems about her faith. Eva loved children, laughter and red birds.
Surviving are her daughter, Marlene Vernon and husband, Richard, of Greer; her grandson, Graham Vernon and his fiancée, Vanessa Smith; a "chosen" granddaughter, Christine "Christy" Fink Plumier; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Jackie Taylor. She was predeceased by her sister and four brothers.
Heartfelt thanks to Mama Eva's Greenville Place family for 7 years of unsurpassed care and genuine love; to Journey Hospice for outstanding medical attention and tremendous compassion over the last 2 months; and to the Mercy Team of Taylors First Baptist Church for endless prayers.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel with Dr. Jimmie Harley and Dr. Paul Jagoe officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West. Memorials may be made to Miracle Hill Children's Home, 117 Drummond Lane, Pickens, S.C. 29671.
